Established in 2006, the company operates Direct Reduction Iron (DRI) kilns for sponge iron production alongside Waste Heat Recovery and AFBC-based captive power plants.

Expansion Roadmap

In August 2023, MoEF&CC granted Standard Terms of Reference for a comprehensive expansion — a Category A project covering all manufacturing verticals.

The expansion positions Sun Steel as a fully integrated steel complex spanning sponge iron, power, alloy manufacturing, and downstream steel processing.

New units include Induction Furnaces with CCM & LRF, a Rolling Mill for TMT bars and wire rods, and Ferro Alloy production via multiple Submerged Electric Arc Furnaces.
